The company where you work doesn't have risk toler ance criteria (RTC). Phaedra Moore, the plant manager, has come to believe that before anyone can do hazard analyses or risk assessments, they need to have RTC, so she wants RTC for the plant to use. She also wants to get buy-in at corporate before implementing them. The production manager at the plant once worked at a company that used the tables below. What is shown below is all he has. The plant m anager believes that the tables should address more types of impacts than they do, but does not have a firm idea of which; the plant manager also suspects that the criteria may be skewed and may be leading to misallocated resources and misplaced priorities. Most importantly, the plant manager doesn't want to get stuck with some other organization's unrecognized problems. Your manager has told the plant m anager that you know something about RTC, so the plant manager has asked you to evaluate the risk matrix and recommend risk tolerance criteria that the plant should use. She is scheduled to fly out to corporate in three weeks and wants to see your recommendation in the form of a Powerpoint presentation that she can present during her trip. The presentation should address what the features of well-constructed risk tolerance criteria are. It should then go on to identify any problems with the production manager's risk matrix. It should then recommend changes that will fix the problems. Finally, the presentation should propose what the new criteria should actually be and make the case for why the proposed criteria are appropriate, rather than som ething different, particularly, something with either higher or lower RTC. The presentation can be no more than 12 slides long, plus a cover slide and a final "Questions?" slide. Because the plant manager will have little time between receiving the presentation and presenting it to the senior m anagement team, she has asked that you write a script for each slide for her to refer to, and include it in the notes section of the slide, with animation cues if you have used animation. The entire text should take no more than 15 minutes to read aloud.
