Patients arrive two at a time and average time between arrivals is 5 minutes, exponentially distributed. After the patient enters the hospital, he/she goes directly to the reception area and checks in with the receptionist. Then, the patients go to the lobby. The client is waiting to see 1 of 3 physicians. These three positions are Pediatrician, Neurologist and OB/GYN. History tells us that 50% of the clients wish to see the pediatrician, 20% want to see the neurologist and 30% want to see the OB/GYN. When the desired physician is available, the receptionist escorts the patient to the office and each transaction with a physician usually take about an average of 10 minutes, exponentially distributed. Checking-in has a mean of 2 minutes and 0.8 standard deviation, normally distributed and the average time in the waiting area is uniformly distributed with a maximum value of 12 and a minimum value of 8 minutes. Some of the patients also needs surgery depending on how minor or critical their condition is after consulting with the pediatrician, neurologist and OB/GYN. We have found that 5% of the patients that see the pediatrician needs a surgery after consultation, 15% of the patients that see the neurologist and 10% who have seen the OB/GYN needs an immediate surgery. All such patients are sent to the ward (1) to queue for the surgery. Average waiting time in the ward is 30 minutes, exponentially distributed. Surgery Room 1 is known to be available for 40% of the time. When the surgery room is available, the patient goes to the room. Surgeries take about a minimum, mode and maximum of 30, 90, 120 minutes respectively, triangularly distributed. After the surgery, only 10% of the patients returns to the ward (2) before discharging. All patients immediately leave the hospital at the conclusion of the transaction. Requirements: 1. Record all the necessary elements.
