There are four openings with identical job descriptions needing to be filled, one located in each of the following cities: Los Angeles, Washington DC, New York City (Manhattan), and Virginia Beach. The individual wants to live in a one bedroom apartment while living in the city of employment. She has been selected for the position and can choose which city to live in. Cash flow is an important factor in the choice. The federal pay schedules pay a different amount for the same job based on locality to account for cost of living. For this position, Los Angeles pays $66,531, Washington DC pays $59,534, New York City pays $67,320, and Virginia Beach pays $53,160. (SALARY TABLE 2020-VB (opm.gov)) The individual's apartment will be the largest living expense, so she goes onto the Internet and searches for seven randomly selected apartments in each city and records their monthly rent. If there is a rent price range, she chooses the lowest value in the range for this analysis. She then computes which cities will cost more to live in, if any, after paying for apartment rent assuming that those randomly selected are representative rents. (Do not include the effects of taxes in the analysis - just the effects of locality pay and apartment rents of those randomly selected.) Is there a city which is likely to be significantly more expensive in terms of her cash flow in this situation to live in. Show all data collected and computations in Excel. a. State the null hypothesis. 3 pts. b. State the alternate hypothesis. 3 pts. c. Use Excel to compute the ANOVA table for this problem. Show the table in an Excel file with the corresponding data. 4 pts. d. Draw your conclusion. Justify your answers. 5 pts
