Although in recent yearspositive strides have been made toward fostering more egalitarian workplaces, evidence indicates discrimination still occurs in the workplace (Colella, Hebl, & King, 2017). Of the employees who are being laid off, 65% are women, 35% are single mothers and 55% are from minority groups. There are significant negative long term effects to employees, workplace morale and image of the company.
