Canadian Leaders

Your task is to consolidate your learning by researching and presenting on a successful Canadian leader. This leader can be a business leader, a political leader, a non-profit leader, or other organizational leader in Canada. Your goal is to educate others about this leader - their background, their accomplishments, etc., and make connections to leadership theories and styles, as explored throughout this activity.

Once you have selected your Canadian leader, you can start to work on the task:

Step 1 - Your research

Conduct appropriate research on your leader. Make sure you are focusing on, and reporting on, thefollowing:

1. The leader's background - where are they from, how did they grow up, what is their educational background?
2. What are their accomplishments and successes?
3. What is their leadership style?
   • Identify their classical leadership style (autocratic, laissez-faire or democratic). Explain your selection and provide evidence.
   • Is this leader transactional or transformational? Explain by providing evidence.
   • What has made them a successful leader?
4. Other interesting facts or information about your leader.
