The mean of rainfall per year in California, there is not much of a trend but what has been consistent is the variability of each year. One year there is significantly more than the next where we could be in severe drought. There has been consistently more variability each year since 1980. The constant changing shows that climate change is a big factor in the amount of rain we receive each year. But not in a consistent way, this can cause issues in many ways, for example, agriculture. Farmers need the water from rain to help their crops grow and we have a lot o farms in California that require that. With climate change farmers cannot rely on rain so they have to take water from other sources, being our lakes and other limited sources. The mean of each year rapidly changes in both directions, this makes it difficult to predict rainfall and it is impossible to rely on.
