The Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) offers employees a methodical framework to work within to enhance their productivity and accomplish greater results in their position. A manager starts it when they notice that a worker isn't performing up to the required level for the position.
- Healthcare organizations use standardized performance appraisal documents, with new managers receiving training on proper completion, deadlines, data collection, and continuous feedback. The goal is to complete appraisals on time, following organizational policies. Online systems are used to streamline the process and link employee performance to pay, allowing managers to justify pay increases or lack thereof based on annual appraisals.
I selected these two topics for discussion due to their significance and likelihood of occurrence within a healthcare organization. In the hospital where I work, we actively utilize these practices, and my frequent interactions with them have heightened my understanding of their value.
