Challenges Concerning the JDIC's challenges, we continue to face some difficulties in raising public awareness of the JDIC and the Deposit Insurance Scheme. Given that deposit insurance only benefits depositors in the event of the failure of an insured institution, we find that awareness levels are impacted. As a result, we must constantly identify and employ varying strategies to increase public/depositor knowledge and understanding of deposit insurance in order to fulfill our responsibility of ensuring that the wider population is aware of the protection provided by deposit insurance as well as its limitations
