The economy* of a tiny seacoast village is comprised of four sectors: fishing, farming, boat repair, and an' inn. Boat repair consists of just one person, who sometimes does repairs at the inn, and regularly leads scenic tours around the area. The inn hosts tourists from abroad and is an important source of revenue for the village. The table below shows the monthly inputs, outputs, and wages for the village. For each of the following questions, please show the contribution of each sector to the total figure. a. Calculate the village's GDP by value added. b. Calculate GDP by expenditure. c. Calculate GDP by factor income (i.e., wages \& profits), and show the percentage of total income from wages. After a series of unusually bad storms, monthly bookings at the inn are halved. The inn reduces wages and purchases of inputs by half, and the other businesses in the village reduce their wages and input purchases in proportion to the fall in their sales to the inn. d. Recalculate the village's GDP by value added. e. Recalculate GDP by factor income, again showing the percentage of total income For each of the following questions, please show the contribution of each sector to the total figure. a.
