Please help answer the following questions. Please include a reference for each question to be considered complete.

Q1. In ANOVA analysis, what is the real meaning of the termtreatment? What does this really mean? Provide some examples of treatments from a business or managerial perspective.

Q2. How many different tests does the textbook give you for applying the chi-square distribution? What are these tests? How could you use each of these tests at your place of business?

Please provide Critical thinking questions to the following questions. They pertain to question 1 above. Each question must have an answer.

Q3, According to the University of Utah (2000), ANOVA allows us to analyze as many groups as we want and each one of them can be treated differently depending on what the independent variable (IV) is. For example, if your IV is Diet, there may be several groups of participants and each group eats a different diet (p.3). If two groups are taken for independent means we use t-test and ANOVA is a term used when there are three or more groups taken for three or more independent means. In the example just mentioned the IVs come from independent populations eating different types of diet and the objective is to find if there is a difference in the mean test scores among the [four] groups (Marchal & Wathens, 2015, p.385).

Q4.Analysis of variance(ANOVA) is a collection of statistical modelsused to analyze the differences among group means and their associated procedures such as "variation" among and between groups (wikipaedia.org). A treatment is a specific combination of factor levels whose effect is to be compared with other treatments. Suppose we wanted to predict the weight of a bag of wheat based on a certain set of characteristics of each bag of wheat. Before doing that, we would need toexplainthe distribution of weights by dividing the amount of wheat bags into groups based on those characteristics. A successful grouping will split bags of wheat such that (a) each group has a low variance of individual weights (meaning the group is relatively homogeneous) and (b) the mean of each group is distinct (if two sets of bags have the same mean, then it isn't reasonable to conclude that the weights are, in fact, separate in any meaningful way).

Q5. An Analysis of variance is a statistical method for testing hypotheses about 3 or more means. A term treatment is used to identify different populations being examined (Lind, Marchal, and Wathen, 2015). An example of this would be for a department that is conducting an end of year review on its employees who have different experience levels. The ANOVA analysis could be utilized to see what the mean variance in work performance is between an entry level employee, an intermediate level employee, a journeyman level employee, and a masters level employee. A hypothesis test would state that the level of variance in performance would increase as you went down the experience level. We would want to perform an AVONA test to confirm or reject this hypothesis.
