(2 points) Anna is a computer programmer at a Canadian company X and earns an annual salary of Yx. Anna has been extremely successful during her career at Company X and her reputation in the industry has led to her receiving a competing job offer from an American company Y. Company Y is offering her an annual salary of YY but requires her to relocate to the US. Also, she will incur a one- time cost of C in the rst year (C can be thought of as relocation expenses as well as \"psychological costs\" such as leaving family and friends behind and exerting effort to settle into a foreign place) if she decides to relocate. Assume that Anna is currently 35 years old and has 30 years remaining in her working life. Furthermore, assume that earnings growth is zero for both jobs (i.e., if Anna continues working for Company X, she will receive Yx each year until she retires. If she joins Company Y, her annual salary will be YY until retirement). Finally, the market interest rate for both countries is r. a) Derive the condition in which Anna will accept Company Y's offer. Your condltion should be expressed in terms of r, Yx, Yy, and C. Use the approximation formula that we learned in class. b) Suppose r=0.05, Yx=200,000, YY=250,000. Find the value of C in which Anna will be indifferent between staying at Company X and joining Company Y. If C=1,000,000, will Anna accept Company Y's offer? Explain
