Identify any company or a segment of it (if its large) and perform research to determine/critique the organization's competitiveness. It's fine to describe a company without a good strategic position . You can propose ways in which the firm can be more competitive.

Apply Porter's principles:

Assess its level of operational effectiveness

Does it possess a sustainable competitive advantage ? What is the source of it.

What is the firm's source of strategic positioning?

Is there a good fit among the firms' activities?

Is the firm competing in a Blue or Red Ocean?
