While labor force participation rates show that the unemployment rate may not be entirely accurate, unemployment has been a growing problem since the COVID-19 pandemic took hold in the United States in March 2020, causing a lack of economic opportunity in need to be stabilized and reversed; these issues negatively affect the economy as a whole, and the nation has suffered resulting in the loss of employment opportunities.
