  • Receive and process all incoming calls in a timely manner.
  • Return phone messages on a daily basis.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer systems utilized.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Process STAT and ASAP referrals in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Date stamp in referrals as received.
  • Mail authorizations and appointment letters on a daily basis as required.
  • Scan orders and other pertinent information into DocStar and attach to authorizations as required.
  • Scan in charts and other medical records into NextGen.
  • Maintain Excel spreadsheets for the purpose of assigning patients on the weekends.
  • Communicate effectively with the Hospitalists and Case Managers to discuss assignments, admissions, and discharge of patients.
  • Check the hospitalist voicemail for messages regarding admissions.
  • Filing is maintained in timely manner in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Email and/or text Case Managers and Hospitalists with pertinent information as needed for patient assignments.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Follow up appointments are made within a timely manner and in accordance with discharge orders. Patients are notified accordingly.
  • Documentation is accurate and well maintained.
  • Filing is maintained in timely manner.
  • Communications with patients, the Company personnel, and outside venders is done in a polite, courteous, respectful manner at all times.
  • Reports any problems or delay in patient care to supervisor.
  • Cultural and Linguistics Training.
  • Must be familiar with health plan benefits and BFMC internal policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and well documented charts.
  • Communicate daily with coworkers and management in an effective manner.
  • Must maintain duel job requirements including working scheduled weekends.
  • Maintain HIPAA guidelines.
  • Document accurately all patient follow up.
