The original two acute care facilities have been dual-coding outpatient records with both ICD-10-CM and PCS codes, while your facility and the other recently acquired hospital have not. It is imperative to arrive at a consensus at today's meeting as to whether dual coding should be done at all four facilities, as the corporate HIM director wants to standardize corporate strategy. One of the sticking points in the decision-making process has been report writing.
