I elected to track Training and Management of Change as the other two elements within the PSM program. I selected training because it is a simple element with a very direct metric, completion percentage. It's easy to track but has a huge real-world impact on workplace safety. I also decided to track Management of Change because I feel like that element is far more important than most people realize. MOC requires that you continuously analyze the process and drill down into the specific steps, and tasks, and materials along the way. I will grade the MOC element by tracking number of process analysis performed and number of open vs completed change requests. My goals are relatively simple, training completion should be 100% and change requests should be 100% as well. Number of process analysis performed would depend on the complexity of the operations and the number of employees/ steps involved. Not having a real-world operating manual to review my gut tells me monthly would be too lofty of a goal so I might set it at quarterly and move the needle as necessary from there.
