Please help me response on their post on our discussion post. like how you going to reply to what are they talking about in own words or how would you react. please thank you , i have three different one please answers it one by one according to the number. thankyou

1. After researching each factor, I believe hormones are the largest contributors to weight gain. According to Kubala (2021) hormones are responsible for regulating your appetite by stimulating hunger and inhibiting your food intake by sending signals to the brain that you are satiated. The hormones responsible for hunger stimulation are, ghrelin, motilin, Neuropeptide Y(NPY), Agouti-related protein (AgRp).(Kubala, 2021) Ghrelin stimulates the hypothalamic center which is the feeding center of the brain,(Osmosis, 2022) it also controls sleep and metabolism, two factors that also affect a person's weight., Motilin causes the intestines to contract. When your intestines contract it sends signals to the brain that you are hungry. NPY and AgRp are responsible for food intake which is how much you eat. Another thing hormones are responsible for is satiety, or the feeling of being full. Hormones like cholecystokinin (CCK), Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), pancreatic peptide YY (Peptide YY), Leptin, Insulin, obestatin all control the bodies response to food (Kubala, 2021) and will send signals to the ventromedial nuclei (Osmosis, 2022) to make a person stop eating. Imbalances lead to poor appetite control causing weight gain or loss. Your body weight is also directly related to hormonal balances. Fat storage and breakdown, energy expenditure and thyroid regulation are influenced by hormones. (Kubala, 2021) The thyroid is a huge contributor to weight gain and weight loss as an irregularity can cause disorders like hypothyroidism making you gain weight and hyperthyroidism which causes weight loss. One evidenced based way to lose weight is to regulate your hormones. If you have an irregular thyroid there are medications that you can take to regulate it. This will help with weight loss if they thyroid is the reason for weight gain. (Kubala, 2021) Hormones are the controlling factor in hunger, satiety, metabolism, and fat distribution. According to Kubala (2021) hormones can be regulated naturally with diet and exercise, good sleep, and stress management. I do think there is a bias when it comes to working with obese patients. According to research by (Villines, 2021) there is consistent research showing the discriminatory ways of healthcare professionals towards obese patients.I have also personally seen a doctor avoid giving a patient an option for treatment until they lose weight as they believed the weight was the main reason for the health condition. Patients with weight issues are constantly told losing 10 to 15 pounds will lessen the severity of most symptoms they come to the doctor with. However, obesity needs to be treated like the disease it is not as an excuse to not treat patients.

After conductingresearch, some factors that contribute the most to weight gain are an individual's environment, genetics, past medical history and medications, and hormones (What causes obesity & overweight?). An individual's environment contributes to weight gain because naturally theenvironment we live in influences the foods we consume and equally influences our ability to maintain a healthy weight (What causes obesity & overweight?). If we are in an environment where food is considered a "love language", then naturally that will contribute to weight gain if the individual is not taking necessary steps to maintain a healthy weight. Genetics is a contributing factor to weight gain by affecting appetite, satiety, metabolism, cravings, body-fat distribution, and the tendency to use eating as a coping mechanism (Why people become overweight 2019). An individual's past medical history and the medications they use are also contributing factors to weight gain. Hypothyroidism, Cushing Syndrome, and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome or PCOS can influence an individual's hormone levels causing them to gain weight. Certain medications such as corticosteroids, antidepressants, and seizure medications cancause unwanted weight gain as a side effect (What causes obesity & overweight?).

An individual's environment is a contributing factor to weight gain, one way to lose weight for this factor is by including daily physical activity. previous studies found that obese people typically lower their risks of heart disease and premature death far more by gaining fitness (Reynolds, 2021). Although genetics contributes to weight gain, effort can help an individual overcome intense weight gain and obesity. Maintaining a healthy diet and incorporating exercise can aid in maintaining a healthy weight (Why people become overweight 2019). PMH and medications contribute to weight gain, however an individual can ask for an alternate medication, and lower the dosage of a certain medication (10 methods to lose weight gain from medication). Overall, to help withweight gain and obesity it is up to the individual to take the necessary steps to maintain a healthy weight such as monitoring food intake, include daily physical activity, and talk to a healthcare professional if these methods are not effective.

Although it can and does happen in healthcare settings, personally I think that healthcare professionals should not have a bias when working with patients who are overweight. Patients regardless of race, age, status, weight, etc. Should be treated equally and should receive the same quality of care. As a future healthcare professional, it will be my job to make sure that patients are getting the care they need, whether they are obese, anorexic, whatever the case may be.

3. The factor that contributes most to weight gain is food consumption based on the reading in chapter 1 diet plays a vital role. It is the foods we eat that impact our health directly and can cause a change of weight because of our eating habits. Like the amount we eat, how much we eat, and the choice of eating a certain food is also impacted by "taste." Taste is the #1 reason most people choose certain foods (Rolfes, Pinna, & Whitney, 2021). Chapter 1 mentions that taste is genetic and that can determine the food choices we make and why we prefer some foods over others. This idea leads me to believe that food consumption is the main reason for weight gain. The person consuming the food is in full control of the food choices they make and how much of it is being consumed. Some people do not understand human nutrition and do not know how to make healthier selections on their diet, so they choose comforting foods, easily accessible food like drive-thru without looking at the food labels. .In the book it mentioned that it is important to eat foods with fewer sugars, fats, and sodium. So looking at the food labels is important to making wiser food choices. It also mentions going to a grocery store instead of choosing to eat out at a fast food place. You can also choose more nutritious foods like frozen veggies, fruit, juices, smoked salmon, cheeses, and breads (Rolfes, Pinna, & Whitney, 2021). Yes, I feel that health care professionals can have a bias when working with patients who are overweight because there are many factors that can contribute to weight gain like medical illnesses and genetics. This can lead a health professional to believe you are not following the doctors order making it seem like it is your fault. Some people are misdiagnosed.
