Situation Your group has been hired' to assist an Executive Management Team from University College to support the relocation of University College from its current building to its new headquarters building on campus. You will help the Executive Management Team evaluate the optimal approach to attain project goals and develop a Project Management Plan to execute this project. You will submit and present your final plan the last day of class. Task The first step in any successful project is to initiate the project with a project charter. You and your team will refer to the below case study and create a project charter following the template that has been provided for you. Case Study Having just celebrated its 100 year anniversary, University College has played a critical role in the success of Syracuse University. Over the past 100 years, University College (U.C.) has positioned itself as the gateway to Syracuse University for part-time students. Most recently, U.C. has focused on the delivery of online classes and has experienced exponential growth with both part-time "non-traditional students" as well as full-time on-campus undergraduate students. As a result of this growth, U.C. recognizes the need to hire many staff and faculty members to support their operation. Unfortunately their current location at 4444 University Avenue is simply no longer large enough to accommodate their needs. As a result, the University has determined that they must relocate to a new building. The process of relocating University College's main office is a significant undertaking as the move has to take place in a manner which is seamless to students and provides minimal disruption to faculty and
