X Co. receives an order for one of its product. The order demands a 20% discount from the standard price: but would be for a sizable volume: 10354 units. X typically sells the product for $18 per unit and incurs production costs of $3 1 8558 xed and $7.15 variable for the 114728 units it produces in an average month. In addition, X incurs $299078 in xed marketing and administration costs. X' factory is currently operating at 60% of capacity. What is the differential prot of the proposed order? (you can round to the dollar.) X Ltd. operates a limestone quarry. It currently produces 112808 tons of low grade limestone rocks annually, which are sold at an average price of 30.34 per ton. X is considering the purchase of a pulverizer that can be used to crush these rocks into a powder that sells for 41.97 per ton. The pulverizer would cost 336114 in annual depreciation and maintenance. To operate it would require hiring 4 employees at a cost of 62541 per year for each and a supervisor at a cost of 121452 per year. Crushing 1 ton of limestone consumes 1.01 of electricity. Insurance, permits, taxes, and paperwork would cost an additional 185242 per year. X has space on its quarry site that is currently unused that could be employed as the site of the pulverizing operation. The space constitutes 3% of the quarry's area. The quarry itself is leased at an annual cost of 3 million. X spends 2 880058 to excavate the 112808 tons of rock, and all 112808 tons would be crushed into powder if the company buys the pulverizer. What is X's annual differential prot from buying the pulverizer? (You can round to the pound.)
