Please help me with this case study. Thanks

Many companies have been developing new tests to rapidly detect the COVID-19 infections in people. One such company is ABC Ltd. ABC Ltd has developed two different rapid COVID-19 detection tests. Version 1 of the test works by getting patients to blow into a bag. Version 2 of the test requires a nasal swab of the patient. ABC Ltd is now trying to find out which version of the rapid COVID-19 detection test would be most popular with people. Furthermore, the company has been conducting trials of the rapid COVID-19 detection tests to determine which one of the two versions is most accurate in detecting COVID-19 infections. All these issues are critical to the success of the new tests that they have developed and will determine the profitability of the company for the next 5 years.

To assist ABC Ltd in determining which of the two tests are most popular with people and which of the two tests is most effective in detecting COVID-19 infections, researchers have collected data and have provided you with these datasets.

The Datasets

Dataset 1

This dataset contains the results of a market research conducted by ABC Ltd. In the market research, the researchers presented information about the two new COVID-19 detection tests to randomly selected people from the general population who participated in many focus groups of 25 to 30 people. The market researchers then recorded the number of people who expressed an interest in buying each version of the COVID-19 detection test for each focus group. Therefore, this dataset contains the following variables:

Variable 1: Version of COVID-19 detection test (Version 1 or Version 2?)

Variable 2: Number of people that would buy the COVID-19 detection test

There is a third column of data in this dataset, Focus Group ID. This variable identifies the focus group and should not be used as a variable in your analysis. However, you can use Focus Group ID to transform the dataset into an additional dataset for your analysis.

Dataset 2

Dataset 2 contains the results of a trial use of Version 1 COVID-19 detection test. The trial run was conducted to check the accuracy of Version 1 COVID-19 detection test. Unfortunately, not everyone with COVID-19 infection received a positive result from Version 1 of the COVID-19 detection test. Furthermore, there were a few patients who tested negative from Version 1 test but were infected with COVID-19.

The variables in this dataset were as follows:

Variable 1: Does the patient really have COVID-19 infection (Has COVID or Does not have COVID)

Variable 2: Did the patient test positive or negative for COVID-19 (Positive or Negative)

Dataset 3

This dataset is the same as dataset 2, except it contains the results of a trial use of Version 2 COVID-19 detection test.

Your tasks

You need to process and analyse the sample datasets 1 to 3, provided to you in MS Excel. For each dataset, generate and analyse descriptive statistics to describe sample characteristics. This will involve, at least, the following analysis: Frequency (counts), proportions, means, standard deviations and correlation analysis. Then use inferential statistics to measure the accuracy of the descriptive statistics for the sample datasets. Based on your analysis of the datasets, answer questions such as:

Which COVID-19 detection test do people prefer to purchase?

Which COVID-19 detection test is more accurate?

You will write a 2,000-word report presenting your analysis and findings. The report should be structured as follows:

Executive Summary Present the major findings and major recommendations from your analysis. This should be the first part of the report but you should do everything else first before writing the summary.

Introduction Provide a background of rapid COVID-19 detection tests and explain the issues and problems with these tests. Outline the purpose of the report. For the background, you will need to conduct research related to the datasets and rapid COVID-19 detection tests. The purpose of the report should become more clear after finding and explaining the descriptive and inferential statistics.

Methodology - Describe the methodology used for data analysis and justify your choice.

Analyses and findings - Analyse the datasets to turn the data into useful information as follows:

Descriptive statistics: Sample characteristics will be described with descriptive analysis. This will include, at least, the following analysis: Frequency (counts), proportions, means, standard deviations and correlation.

Inferential statistics: Inferential statistics will be used to measure the accuracy of the descriptive statistics used in the report. For example, for at least two sample averages find a 95% confidence interval for the population average and for at least two sample proportions find a 95% confidence interval for the population proportion

Discussion and managerial advice Provide a discussion of the results. Discuss which COVID-19 detection test is more popular and which is more accurate.

Limitations and directions for future research - Suggestions of how the research can be improved. You can suggest a very advanced study with many variables. You can propose new variables. You can discuss the problems with a small sample size.
