Please help me with this essay-style discussion post:
Your task for this discussion is as follows:
- Locate the results of a recent survey that shows at least two variables in a newspaper, magazine, or Internet article.
- Outline the survey data so that your peers can understand the variables and results, and then identify at least one key formula from this module that you could use to evaluate the data.
- Provide a brief explanation of why you selected the formula you did and why it matters.
- Explain what the formula is, where it is in the textbook, and clearly define your parameters.
One survey I found to discuss is:
A survey of 1,402 registered voters with a margin of error of +/- 2.6% indicated that 49% think it's either very likely or somewhat likely that Donald Trump will win another presidential election, while 48% think it's either not so likely or not likely at all (Quinnipiac University, 2022).
If I'm not mistaken, my data is:
In this example, let p1 = the proportion of voters who think that Trump may win another election and p2 = the proportion who do not think it's likely he will win.
p'A= .49
p'B= .48
In this example, I wish to determine whether the proportion of Trump supporters differs from the proportion of Trump detractors at the .05 level of significance.
H0 : pA= pB
Ha : pA pB
n = 1,402
pc = (.49+.48)/(1402+1402) = .49
