image text in transcribed SEC 10K Project: Request a corporation to study As a first step to your SEC 10K project, you will select a publicly traded U.S. corporation (Fortune 500 company) you would like to study this semester and post a response to this discussion to obtain permission. See below for the criteria for the company and the posting requirement for this week (Week 1): 1. Post the name of the corporation, the stock market where it is traded, and its ticker symbol in the Subject line when you respond to this posting (as a new thread) and all other postings related to this project. Only 1 student per company -- if you see your prospective company already listed, please choose another company. It must be a manufacturing company -- an entity that derives its products for sale, thereby revenue, through the direct manufacture of those products. ***It must produce something. I will respond with an approval during Week 1, so that you may proceed with the project. For example: o Apple; NASDAQ: APPL o Exxon Mobile; NYSE: XOM 2. State (briefly) why you want to study this corporation. 3. Provide a direct link to your corporation's SEC 10K report for the most recent year. A direct link is a hyper link that takes you directly to a Website where the SEC 10K report is located. For example, this is the direct link to the 2013 SEC 10K report for Apple, Inc. From the company's homepage, look for an Investor/Investor Relations, Corporate, or About Us link. You can search these links and find the 10-K, among other SEC filings/reports for your prospective company. Post the link (from the company's website) to the 10-K report, or use the EDGAR system. In order to access the SEC EDGAR System, click on the link provided below and search by Company name. EDGAR Link: http://www.sec.gov/edgar/searchedgar/companysearch.html 4.
