The following table shows the results of a recent study regarding the state of residence of individuals and their selected field of study. Field of Study by State We want to determine if there is enough evidence from this sample to say that selected field of study and state of residence are related to each other. Conduct a hypothesis test of independence using all necessary steps. In order to get full credit you answer must include all of the following (circle the answers to make them easy for me to find): 1. State the null and alternative hypotheses. (Hint: Remember that it is a somewhat different format for the test of independence.) 2. Give the symbol and value of the test statistic. 3.
