On November 21, 2018,Making Ontario Open for Business Act, 2018, better known as Bill 47, received Royal Assent and came into force effective January 1, 2019. Although some provisions remained the same, the new Act extensively repealed theFair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act, 2017, also known as Bill 148, that was previously passed by the Liberal government.

1. How do these types of legislative changes affect union AND non-union workplaces? Please provide examples.
2. What are your own thoughts about these changes made with a new elected government?
3. Looking on this with a lens now that we had a two year Pandemic, would you make further recommendations to improve this legislation for employees and/oror employers? What would they be?
