Please, I need a response to the contents of this memo:

Due to the recent survey conducted among employees, and the results, I wanted to inform you howthe existing job announcement was effective in the past and why the existing job announcement is no longer able to meet the needs of today's leaders.

A leader is someone who selects, equips, trains and influences others to focus on an organization's mission and objective (Gandolfi, 2016, p.19). In the existing job announcement, it reflects many theories from the past. Past theories such as the trait theory identifies personality or behavioral characteristics shared by leaders. Task-focused, personally driven and results- oriented are all examples of behavioral characteristics. The employees' complaints focused on the leadership inefficiency by the lack of vision, a breakdown in communication, and a lack of connection with staff.

A new leadership theory that will help LSN move forward is Hersey-Blanchard Situational Leadership Theory. The theory states that instead of using one style, successful leaders should change their leadership styles based on the maturity of the people they are leading and the details of the task. This approach focuses on a range of stylesof leadership which are telling, selling, participating and delegating along with the different range of maturity levels from employees. The Hersey-Blanchard theory will focus on the employees' complaints regarding a breakdown in communication. Leader-Member Exchange (LMX) Theory discusses the leader forms a trust-based relationship with the employee. This theory will allow a bond between the staff and leadership.

Management consists of managing an organization and leadership focuses on influencing, training, and focusing on the organization goals. Althoughmanagers and leaders can often do the same roles, both roles have differences. Below are some examples:

  • Leader
  • Relates to staff as individuals who seek meaning from their work
  • Long-term focus
  • Functions as a role model who inspires others
  • Mentors and develops leadership in other

  • Managing
  • Relates to staff as workers who seek to be paid for their work
  • Short-term focus
  • Functions by telling others what to do
  • Coaches simply to get the job done

Life Science Nutraceuticals, Inc. (LSN) is an expanding organization, and the goal is to evolve within leadership. With the currentleadership theories and the recent survey of employees expressing their complaints regarding leadership inefficiency, this guidanceshould assistwith improvements.
