Please introduce the congruency effect. It might be important to explain that this effect is often measured in task switching research and how this effect is explained in task-switching research.

Paragraph reference:

Our method, however, limited the number of subtasks to only three. The Parity Task asked participants to decide if a number was odd or even and then reply appropriately. Additionally, they completed the Color Task, which required them to determine the color of a stimulus and then provide the appropriate answer. Final task was the Magnitude Task, which required participants to decide if a number was larger or lower than five and to reply appropriately. We sought to increase participants' interest and performance by streamlining the work and concentrating on three subtasks rather than seven, eventually increasing the effectiveness of the research. We hypothesize that task interruptions result in a performance decline in the primary task. Worse performance in a subtask following an interruption than in the corresponding subtask which is performed in a trial without interruptions. Additionally, we predict that the primary-task goal is activated during secondary-task processing. Secondary-task performance is worse in incongruent trials than in congruent trials, reflecting a congruency effect. Furthermore, through this research, we aim to contribute to the existing literature and examine the research question: Is the pre-interruption subtask 1 activated during secondary-task processing (e.g., Kiesel, Wendt, & Peters, 2007; Sudevan & Taylor, 1987)? However, we need to account for the variability of the data and this task requires participants to fully concentrate due to its online nature and the need for control over the entire duration of the experiment.
