Please only do the VISIO drawing for the Macy's Database. I dont need an access database.
Directions: The first thing you need to do is do the ACCESS tutorial. In the tutorial, you will create a very simple database for Lawyers. It is only two tables; the Lawyer Table and the Client Table. One lawyer can have many clients and one client can only have one lawyer. Populate each table. Make sure that each lawyer has more than one client. Be sure that you add yourself to the database either as a lawyer or as a client. 1. 2. Using VISIO, create the ERD for the Macy's database The ERD exercise for this lab is similar to the sample ERD exercise presented above. On the next page is a partial spreadsheet for Macy's It is not normalized data. That means that there is a lot of data redundancy. Your job is to create an ERD for the database. You must put it in first, second, and third normal forms. Normalizing a table can be easily done by first finding the entities and then putting attributes ithin each entity that describe that entity The solution will have four tables. The table relationships will all be one to many relationships. Your job is to find the tables (entities) and figure out the relationships that they may have with each other Find the entities and their relationships from it. First, find the entities. The entities are decomposable nouns or what is also called Non- atomic nouns. The Non-atomic nouns can be broken down into nouns that are atomic. The atomic nouns will be attributes in the entities. So, find those Non-atomic nouns first. You will find the entity names in the columns below. One entity is STORE because it is a noun and it is NOT ATOMIC. It can be broken down into several atomic nouns like store address and store phone number. It has several attributes as you can see below Next find the primary key column for each entity. A primary key candidate is a column or columns that must have unique values for each row. In this exercise, the entities' primary keys are all just one column. Then, find the attributes that belong to each entity. Each entity has a theme. That means that the attributes must describe the entity or in other words its theme. An attribute must be dependent on the primary key attribute of that entity. For instance, an employee will have his own unique employee ID Primary Key. After you do that, then find the relationships. For instance, a region can have many stores. A store can have many employees. Then add the foreign keys to the proper entities. 3. Test your ERD out by creating the Macy's database using ACCESS. Populate your tables with the data you see below. But also add your name to the database as an employee in one of the stores. You pick the store. Make sure you have created the relationships with the proper foreign keys and make sure you check "Enforce Referential Integrity" check box when creating your relationship lines.
