The Warehouse Club Around the first day of each month, an accounts receivable clerk queries the membership database to identify memberships with expiration dates in the following month. (e.g., on Jan. 2, a query identifies memberships expiring during February. A membership renewal list is printed for use in preparing individual invoices and for documentation. Using the list, the clerk prepares invoices for members. This process automatically updates A/R records. The computer prints two copies of the invoice using information from the membership database. The original invoice is sent to the member and the invoice copy is stored numerically in a filing cabinet. The list is then stored in a cabinet by date. When payment checks are received they are immediately processed by the cash receipts clerk. First a copy is made and stored alphabetically in member files. Next, A/R records are updated and members are given another year of shopping privileges. Checks are temporarily filed until endorsed. Finally at the end of the day, checks are endorsed, a 2 part deposit slip prepared. Copy 2 is filed by date. The checks are deposited in the bank and a deposit receipt is filed with the copy of the deposit slip
