The price of the share has increased by 13.2% over the past year, and it is up 2.2% so far this year. Walmart has done an excellent job of managing its growing profit, utilizing a clever strategy for reinvestment, and giving back to shareholders. As of January 2020, the company has distributed dividends totaling $6 billion, paid out dividends totaling $6 billion, and bought back shares totaling over $5.7 billion (AAII,2023).These figures represent the company's reinvestment of more than $10.7 billion in capital expenditures (CAPEX). Walmart Inc. had a market capitalization of $392.7 billion as of the 31st of March, 2023, which placed it in the top 100 percentile of all companies operating in the Food Retail & Distribution industry (AAII,2023).
