(Please read the mini-case study below prior to attempting the assignment) Tuhafeni Auctioneers Tuhafeni Auctioneers have been trading since 2018 in the Khomas region of Namibia. Their core business is based around a trading room in the city of Windhoek, where an auction of general goods is held on the first Saturday of each calendar month. For the two weeks prior to the auction, goods are brought into the saleroom for valuation and on the Wednesday prior to the auction a catalogue is printed and sent to members of a distribution list. On the Friday prior to the auction, there is a viewing day open to the public. Mr. Pamwe has been Managing Director of the auctioneers for five years. During that time, he has seen business eroded through direct online sales and he wants to reposition his own business by adding an effective online presence. His idea is that bidding for goods in the saleroom should be possible for both people that are present and also for people that are elsewhere and connected via the Internet. Goods brought to the saleroom will need to be photographed and registered on the new system, with details of their owners. The system will allow sales-day bidding, which will be controlled from a terminal by the Chief Auctioneer or one of his/her helpers. Payments for winning bids will also be managed by the new system this means that automatic payments can be made by online purchasers and payments made by purchasers in the room will be taken and registered by a member of staff. If the winning bidder is not going to collect the item in person, then details for delivery need to be taken and a further payment for postage and packing collected. Pamwe realises that he may not have thought carefully enough about every part of this process, so as you develop the requirements you are free to ask him or other member of his staff questions to clarify and extend the specification appropriately. For your design, you should produce a list of functional and nonfunctional requirements, a use case model of the system with separate descriptions of the use cases, a list of candidate classes and an initial class diagram. For this assignment, you will be evaluated on your ability to produce a well-designed online based application. I will therefore be marking your assignment 2 against the following criteria: Design addresses user requirements Effective design and use of appropriate design notations Appropriate use of OO principles design Effective separation of presentation from logic Extensibility Assignment 2 (Group 2) (Model an Online based Application) Marking Scheme Functional and non-functional requirements (20 marks). A list of functional and non-functional requirements presented in the formats proposed in the module units. Higher marks will be available for explaining how functional completeness has been achieved and how overlapping and conflicting requirements were resolved in order to achieve the final set. Use case model (15 marks). Marks will be awarded for how well the use case model represents the requirements. Higher marks can be achieved by using advanced features, such as stereotypes, appropriately. Detailed use cases (15 marks). Marks will be awarded for fit to the requirements, consistency with the use case model and presentation in a manner consistent with the appropriate requirements for system development. Candidate class list (10 marks). Use the noun analysis method presented in the module to develop an initial set of candidate classes, explaining your choices for which are chosen to be classes and which are not. Class diagram (15 marks). Marks here will be for consistency with the produced class list, fit to the requirements and Evidence for design decisions (15 marks). These further marks will be awarded for the overall depth and consistency of the report of your design. You should not only produce the outputs given above, you should also explain your reasoning behind their development and cite appropriate sources. Overall quality of report presentation (10 marks). These marks will only be available at the end for the presentation of the report. Word Limit There is no word limit for the design report. This is deliberate, because I dont want to constrain your designs some people may use many words to express a single use case, others only a few. As regards writing evidence for your decisions, I would expect 200-300 words per sub-section to be enough. Are references to other works required? You should justify your design decisions by referring to other sources e.g. you may include a certain non-functional requirement because youve read somewhere that its generally important to do so. In such cases, you would get credit for including a reference and that credit would come under evidence for design decisions. What is important is if you do use an idea from elsewhere, you must cite your source (Use APA Style for both in-text citation and reference standard). Is there a template for the report?
