In my capacity as a former Child Protective Social Worker and a Program Specialist for the elderly, I strongly emphasize the significance of weighing both intentions and outcomes. Some acts are inherently right or wrong, but context matters. From my background in child protection, some acts seem inherently right or wrong in safeguarding children, but outcomes' assessment is vital for their well-being. My current role as a remote social worker provides opportunities to assess and respond to clients' needs efficiently. In social work, there should be a balance between following ethical principles and considering the potential outcomes for clients. While I believe that intentions should guide our actions towards doing what is right, I also acknowledge that consequences play a crucial role in determining whether an act was truly beneficial or not. Sometimes, despite good intentions, adverse consequences can arise. Therefore, it is essential to consider both aspects when making ethical decisions to ensure it aligns with the best interest of those involved.
