Interestingly, which concept I found the most challenging was the correlation vs. causation concept. At first, I couldn't understand why this was studied; I felt as if it was unimportant. Most of the examples I encountered were silly and plain whatever. I thought, "Uhm, I guess it's just for fun. So I didn't pay much attention to this concept. Especially since I didn't understand it. However, shifting my thought, the process was "no, I have to study this because is in the book and modules for us to understand. I reluctantly started to take this concept and try to learn it. After a decent amount of time reading about it, I concluded: that we need common sense and critical thinking. And this is where I believe I can see myself using the most in my future career. Using a great deal of critical thinking with a handful of common sense throughout the job I will be working. We will see an abundance of graphs that include correlation vs. causation that we need to interpret scientifically with critical thinking rather than take it at face value. For example, while all pregnancy is for women, this doesn't mean that you will get pregnant since you're a woman. Even though for me, this seems easy to comprehend, unfortunately for others, this might take them a while. This is an example of correlation vs. causation. In healthcare, when in a critical situation, we need critical thinking with a hint of common sense to do our jobs efficiently. We will learn to differentiate between what is more urgent and quickly act upon it based on correlation vs. causation.
