Conflict Setting: This conflict takes place daily at the hospital where I work. It is in most services, but we will focus on my service. As I stated in the week one introduction, I am a housekeeper at the Chillicothe VAMC. In EMS, we do all the housekeeping, cleaning, and a tad bit of maintenance throughout the whole post/campus. There is currently a war between shifts and a war within the first shift(which I work), concerning things not being taken care of, or done properly, or even at all. There is an active investigation going on right now concerning an anonymous letter sent to our Director saying that housekeeping is a toxic work environment and naming many individuals, including myself, who have absolutely nothing to do with creating this hostile work environment. Our supervisors have charges filed against them by a group I am part of because of a long history of foul play, degradation, and favoritism, among other things too numerous to list.

Insight:For a resolution to happen, we would need to start anew with all new supervision in our service. That is an agreement everyone involved has come to. We have absolutely no leadership in our service whatsoever. Personnel do what they want, when they want, how they want. All steps to try to resolve this situation have been taken countless times to no avail. All other services can see the turmoil in our service and look down upon us because there is no leadership to take care of the issues that have/are arising. The investigation that is currently taking place will hopefully take care of this problem once and for all.
