Please research the story of Giselle!

Write a paper discussing the following:

1) How Giselle exemplifies a Romantic ballet. Give at least four examples. Although you do not have to cite, I should see evidence that you have read your text and readings about Romanticism and Romantic Ballet.

2) How Giselle challenged the societal standards of the times in which it was originally created.

3) How the choreographer used movement to give you insight into the personalities of three characters in the first act. You should include how the choreographer used pantomime to help.

4) Your reaction to the second act of the ballet. Although you are welcome to express whether or not you "liked" the performance, you should include more in depth thoughts. Did the choreographer "tell" the story effectively? Did the dancers execute the steps well?

5) Did the costumes and scenery draw you in or distract you? No, you do not have to answer all these but, yes, you need to think deeper about what you are seeing.
