It is only logical to think this figure increased in 2023. With the increasing adoption of the technology by businesses, there is a pressing demand for legislative measures to regulate its use.

A legislative venture addressing issues related to new technology is usually challenging because technological innovations often happen at a rate that legislative action cannot keep up with. To exacerbate the stalemate, transparency, accountability, cybersecurity, and privacy issues are usually significant concerns to address. Talking about creating AI legislation, Fitzgerald & Stateline (2023) advance that to create impactful laws, policymakers need developers to be transparent about the systems they employ and receptive to identifying potential issues. I think that your proposal identifies some of the major issues. However, I think it would have been worthwhile to include provisions for other issues such as safeguarding against cybersecurity threats and intellectual property exploitation issues posed by the use of AI systems.
