Job Satisfaction and Spirituality It is hypothesized that there is a relationship between spirituality and job satisfaction. The purpose of this research is to determine if spirituality influences job satisfaction.

Results

The sample size is 39 participants. The demographic statistic was based on racial characteristics in which 8% American Indian or Alaska Native, 8% Black or African American, 13% Hispanic or Latino, and 72% White or Caucasian, as shown in Figure 1. The participants were all U. S. Citizens on Gibson's private Facebook page. The participants were volunteers from the population of friends currently on the researcher's Facebook page. The researcher's Facebook currently has 889 friends of different racial and religious backgrounds.

The current research question purpose is to examine if there is relationship between spirituality and job satisfaction. The statistical test is correlation, Pearson's r correlation. As shown in Table 1, A Pearson's r correlation revealed a significant relationship between the job satisfaction and spirituality r(37)= -0.623, p<.001 (two tailed). 38.81% of the variation in job satisfaction is accounted for by spirituality (as shown in Figure 2). We reject the null hypothesis and there is a significant relationship between the variables. SPSS version 28.0.1.0 (142) was used to run the statistics.

Discussion

This study examined the relationship between job satisfaction and spirituality.It was found spirituality and job satisfaction were significantly correlated. The strength of the correlation was significantly correlated. However, the strength of this study is limited by the lack of diversity and cultural meanings of spirituality. The different nationalities or cultures have different meanings for spirituality (Alrashidi et al., 2022; Asutay et al., 2022). The participants were volunteers from the researcher's private Facebook page and further studies can be conducted on larger populations with more diverse participants. Another limitation is the age of the participants. Albuquerque et al. (2023) reported that different age groups should also be studied due spirituality meaning different for different generations. The researcher had a few limitations, however, the goal of just showing a relationship between spirituality and job satisfaction was significantly positive and further study can narrow the gaps.

As Koburtay et al. (2023) reported that spirituality at the workplace increases a worker's purpose in work and they are more engaged in their work. This study found a statistical relationship between spirituality and job satisfaction in which can lead to workers more engaged in their work. Koburtay et al. (2023) continued to explain that spirituality in the workplace influences work behaviors that employees are more productive (Afsar and Badir, 2017). Asutay et al. (2022) reported that spirituality positively influenced job satisfaction. They continued the study to narrow the higher job satisfaction to work attitudes and work ethics. The employees were more committed to the job when they had spirituality. Also with this research study, the variables can be analyzed individually. For now, only a correlation was conducted to find the positive relationship between spirituality and job satisfaction. Marcio Roberto et al. (2023) found that within a Brazilian oil and gas industry, spirituality positively influenced job satisfaction in the areas of wages, bosses, promotions, and tasks. In this current study, some of the same areas were studied such as pay and bosses opinions in which was also positively significant findings.

After completing this study, the results show that there is a significant correlation between spirituality and job satisfaction. There can be more research conducted to narrow the fine points of what part of job satisfaction is most affected by spirituality or what part of spirituality helps employees feed satisfied. Kili Barmanpek et al. (2022) explained that job satisfaction can retain staff and employees had better personal health (Aloisio et al., 2019). The employees were absent less and felt better subsequently, the nursing care was better because they were more satisfied in their jobs due to high spirituality (Majima et al, 2019). As with Alrashidi et al. (2022) study, higher spiritual intelligence led to a better overall life satisfaction level.
