The foreign currency I am choosing for this weeks assignment is going to be the Japanese Yen because of the certain item that I want to buy. 1 US Dollar translates to 136.10 Japanese Yen as of writing this assignment. I want to buy a R33 Nissan Skyline because they are only specific to Japan, which means I will need to use Yen to buy one. The Prices for these cars very depending on the condition of the car and also how many miles it has from the point of it being sold. After doing research I found the median for a good condition car with a good amount of miles would be around 15k in USD which translates to 2 million Yen. After researching on the cost to bring it over to the US with all the paperwork done correctly it would be another 7K USD, once again this varies from company to company. All of that being said the total cost for the car with shipping costs it would cost 22k USD which translates to 3 million Yen. The reason I want to buy this car is because I grew up looking at cars and one day I saw this car on the internet which then I learned that they were only sold in Japan. In order to bring a car into the US you must wait 25 years in order for the car to become legal to ship over here. The 25 year rule was established by the US in that past for many different reasons. Unless you have more money there are work arounds to bring cars over to the US earlier than 25 years which it has been done before but you need to know people and the price for that is not known due to obvious reasons.
