This was the question they had to answer: "The structure of an organization can influence the overall success of a project from initiation to closure. Identify if your organization is centralized or decentralized and evaluate the benefits and weaknesses of the structure. Would you change from centralized or decentralized to meet the needs of your projects? Why or why not?"

CLICK TO EXPAND COLLAPSE Lucas Oscar 5 Th u rsday Hello everyone, Operational and reputational risk are 2 examples of risks that can occur in the supply chain that can affect a project, "Operational risk is the prospect of loss resulting from inadequate or failed procedures, systems or policies." l[Rouse, 2013] Whether it's a catastrophic event, weather, strikes, or accidents on the road, supply interruptions and delays will occur. "Reputational risk may be even more serious than operational or nancial risks because the loss of reputation may be catastrophic for a company." (Johnson, Leenders, 6L Flynn, 2015) Athreat or danger to the good name or standing of a business is a reputational risk. A project manager can minimize operational risk by evaluating the supplier before committing to purchase and having multiple suppliers. Also, it is essential to have relationships and communication with your key suppliers. For example, I work in a supply chain, and our leading suppliers notify us that they are lowr on certain items in advance so that we can reach out to our other suppliers. The only impact is the price and cost risk, A project manager can minimize reputation risk by making a reputational risk park of strategy and planning. Also, can control processes and understand all actions can affect public perception. A project manager can create a response and contingency plans if the worst happens. References: Johnson, P. Thursday Good Evening Class, Through my 7 years of experience and involvement with different commands in the military, I can say that the Marine Corps, as a whole, is a centralized organization with very little allowability of a decentralized approach. At the top of every command is a Commanding Officer who states intent for missions, training, and combat readiness needed to be met daily, weekly, and monthly by all members underneath, with maximum supervision. Accompanying the Commanding Officer is the high enlisted personnel who ensure this intent is met. Because of our expectations as one of the most reputable military organizations in the world, we are expected to be readily available in the event we are needed for war, which involves being ready at all times. To ensure deployment readiness, the centralized organization compliments us the most and ensures we remain structured and accountable to each other. The benefit of a centralized organization is that we know, daily, what tasks need to be met to ensure we stay on the right path of deployment readiness. This weakness is that it eliminates any ideas to be used to meet the same standards but better or more proficiently. In this organization or in my own, I would have a balance of both centralized and decentralized approaches. This is because I believe there needs to be a strict structure existing. Still, there should be opportunities to suggest ideas that may reduce project costs or to express ideas that may increase efficiency. All ideas should be considered to reduce labor, costs, and time.
