Please respond to this comment with your opinion:
In the field of IT, especially with data initiatives, it is common to have multiple projects that must be executed simultaneously. However, there is often a shortage of full-time resources to meet the demand, and to address this issue, many organizations partner with external vendors, including offshore resources, to augment their IT departments. In my case, working in the data office, we have established partnerships with a few well-known IT vendors specializing in data analytics and cloud services. These partnerships allow us to obtain additional help to fulfill the resource demand during peak periods of activity. One major advantage of outsourcing resources from external vendors is the ability to quickly acquire additional resources to meet increased demand during peak periods. In addition, external vendors may introduce new concepts and technologies to the company as part of the engagement, which can provide valuable learning opportunities for full-time employees. On the contrary, resource augmentation engagement with vendors always involves certain risks. For instance, if the offshore team fails to transfer knowledge and document the project properly, the project's business and technical knowledge may be lost. Furthermore, the company may receive lower-quality work if it is assigned a "B team" of junior resources from the vendor.
