Please response to the discussion post on closing out a procurement.
In working to close out a procurement, many steps need to be taken before the project can be considered closed and finalized. These steps include going based on the procurement management plan to aid in this process. In addition, the organization will want to ensure all procured items have been delivered or a contract is terminated, payments are finalized, all procured items are documented for lessons learned, and any organizational off-boarding activities have taken place for the vendor (Guth, 2009-2018). Documenting lessons learned after a project is essential for future work for evaluating potential vendors, understanding what did and did not work, and collecting data for best practices to build on in later projects. Once enough projects have been completed and lessons learned have been documented, organizations hopefully can create a recipe for successful projects by continuing to grow and expand their brand and business.
