Please see the below: (This is all that is given)
Consider the scenario below. For each of the numbered items (1-8), do they need to go through the change management process and does Peter need to provide an assessment? Peter is the project manager for a sub-project, project A, that is part of a large program.
There are total of seven sub-projects within this program. Some of the deliverables in sub-projects are used by other sub-projects. Some of the deliverables are final program deliverables. In Peters case, project A uses portions of deliverables from sub-projects B, C, and D. While some of the information and results of Peters deliverables are used in all of the other projects, B, C, D, E, F, Q and are program deliverables.
The program has a change management plan that requires that an impact assessment is completed by every affected subproject before a change can be approved. Consider the following list of proposed changes: (A.) Do these changes need to go through the change management process? (B.) If they go through the process, does Peter need to provide an impact assessment?
1. The program sponsor has requested a change to the program timeline to accommodate the activities that are occurring as part of a business acquisition. This would change the end dates for almost all deliverables in all of the sub-projects.
2. Project B has encountered a problem that will impact attributes in all of its deliverables. The project manager for B is requesting a change.
3. Project F has encountered a problem that will impact attributes in all of its deliverables. The project manager for F is requesting a change.
4. One of the project F deliverables is used by project C. The proposed change to Project F will impact that deliverable which will then impact all of the project C deliverables.
5. Peter has encountered issues on his project that will impact only one deliverable. That deliverable is not used by any of the other projects but rather it is a program deliverable.
6. A request had been submitted to change a deliverable from project D that is used by projects E and F.
7. A reorganization is occurring, and the several core team members are changing on each of the projects.
8. A requested change in project B was not approved. Because of this, project B will not be able to provide a deliverable on time and to the standards that were part of the assumption in the project A planning. This will now cause Peter to implement a workaround in order to meet his project goals and deliverables.
