Question 3 (50\%): Appropriate dosing for cytotoxice anticancer agents has been largely determined from prospective and retrospective studies in which the goal was to maximize efficacy and minimize toxicily. The starting dose for conventional cytotoxic agents in Phase I studies has generaly been based on animal studies, where doses are usually escalated until the LD10 is reached (the dose that results in lethallty in 10 percent of the treated animals). The following table shows the dosage vs lethallty values for a given cytotoxic anticancer drug. a) (10\%) Find the ilnear regression and coefficient of determination of the above data, do not use the built-in functions lilioe poiyfit or linsolve. b) (10\%) Identlly If a quadratle relation has a better fit, do not use the bullt-in function polylit. c) (5\%) Estimate lethalliy for a dosage equal to 30 and a dosage equal to 75 using the quadratic model found in (b). Is your eatimate reasonable in ellher case? d) (5\%) Fit the above function using the built-in function poly fit for a linear and quadratio ft and compare your parameter reeults to these found in parts (a) and (b). e) (20\%) Plot both the linear and quadratle models and their resilduals. Label x and y axis appropriately. ?
