PLEASE SOLVE AND EXPLAIN

A cola maker tested an artificial sweetener in their cola recipe to see if the sweetness of this cola remains constant or decreases during storage. Ten batches of cola were prepared using the artificial sweetener. Two bottles of cola from each batch were taste-tested by a panel of experts to obtain a composite sweetness measure - one immediately after the batch was produced and the other one month later. Given the table below, what is the mean difference in the sweetness of fresh and stored cola? Estimate using a 96% confidence interval.

Sweetness rating n mean Standard deviation
fresh 10 3.5 1.08
stored 10 2.4 1.26
Difference (fresh - stored) 10 1.0 1.33

A.(0.14, 1.86)

B.(0.07, 1.93)

C.(-0.01, 2.01)

D.(-0.22, 2.42)

A sample survey asked a random sample of young adults "Where do you live now? That is, where do you stay most often?" Below is a two-way table of all 2984 people in the sample (both men and women) classified by their age and where they lived.

Living arrangement/Age in years 18-19 20-21 22-23 24-25 Total
Parent's home 324 378 337 318 1357
Another person's home 37 47 40 38 162
Your own place 116 279 372 487 1254
Group quarters 63 62 52 34 211
Total 540 766 801 877 2984

What is the null hypothesis being tested in this study?

A.All the population means are equal.

B.There is no association between living arrangements and age.

C.There is an association between living arrangements and age.

D.There is no linear relationship between living arrangements and age.

The chi-square cell components for the age and living arrangements study is given in the table below.

Living arrangement/ Age in years 18-19 20-21 22-23 24-25
Parents' home 25.05 2.53 2.04 16.38
Another person's home 2.01 0.71 0.28 1.94
Your own place 54.23 5.72 3.72 38.07
Group quarters 16.27 4.03 0.99 19.60

Assuming researchers had sufficient evidence to conclude that there is an association between age and living arrangements, which of the statements below is a correct conclusion about the follow-up analysis?

A.Older adults are more likely to have their own place than expected if there were no association, but no other cells had significant results.

B.The Age 18-19/Parents' home, Age 18-19/Own Place, Age 18-19/Group, Age 24-25/Parents' home, Age 24-25/Own Place, Age 24-25/Group cells are major contributors to the chi-square test statistic.

C.Since the Chi-Square Test is just an overall test of significance, there is no way to follow-up analysis to find where the association is taking place.
