CASE REVIEW LEGAL ENVIRONMENT OF BUSINESS Hamed is a citizen of Pakistan from the royal family of Caliph Umar. He is the second child in a family of thirty-ve and has been well educated in the United States and Saudi Arabia. At the age of 10, he was trained as a prince with detailed traditional education on how to be crowned as a king in the near future. Hamed loves sport cars, waterfronts, partying, nice food and has a plan of getting married at the age of 40. In 2015, Hamed is bored of staying in Pakistan and decided to buy a ticket to Muscat as a tourist. Arriving at Muscat, Hamed loves the environment, the people and nice places and decided to stay in Muscat without going back to his country. While in Muscat, he has visited different places and tourism attraction sites. And based on his assessment, he prefers to stay in Muscat, get married and settle down forgetting about becoming a king back home. Last week, Hamed while going to the party was arrested by Royal Oman Police and when he was asked to produce his resident permit, he could not. The police have decided to deport him back to his country but Hamed claims he is eligible to stay in Oman because he is from a royal family and a prince. Omani Immigration Law Article 4: It is illegal for every non omani citizen to enter into Oman or planning to reside in Oman for more than three months without securing a resident permit from the Immigration department Article 5: notwithstanding the provision of Article 4, citizens from Gulf Countries are exempted from getting resident permit and can stay in Oman without a resident permit Article 6: Any non-Omani illegally staying in Oman without proper documentation has committed a crime and the punishment shall be two years imprisonment or ne of two thousand omani riyal or deportation
