Catch \& Release (C\&R) Co. produces fly boxes. C\&R has three small plants. C\&R supplies their items to four fly fishing shops. There are three warehouses to stop by. The shipping cost is calculated as following: Shipping cost =$1 the number of boxes the distance Plant 1,2 and 3 can produce up to 600,500 and 700 items respectively. And warehouses also have their capacities, 500,700 and 600 items for warehouses 1,2 and 3 , respectively. Fly fishing shops order 200,500,600 and 300 items for shop 1, 2, 3 and 4 , respectively. Pij: Shipment(No. of items) from plant i to Warehouse j Wij : Shipment(No. of items) from Warehouse i to fly shop j 1. Write Objective Function using decision variables that defined above (Start with MAX or MIN) 2. Write all the constraints. 3. Create a Spreadsheet model of the problem on Excel and find the optimal solutions for Pij and Wij (Make sure you generate Sensitivity report) 4. What is the Optimal total cost? 5. If it is possible to increase the capacity of warehouse 1 by up to 100 , but it will cost $10 dollar per unit. Would you increase the capacity of warehouse 1 ? If yes, by how many? 6. C\&R's logistics manager is thinking of introducing new route by renting a new truck. The new route is from Plant 1 to fly shop 3 without stopping any warehouse. The distance between Plant 1 and Fly shop 3 will be 35 . And the initial cost of new route (including truck rental and driver's salary) will be $2,000. What would be the transportation cost with the new route? (excluding initial cost of new route $2,000 ) You need to modify the spreadsheet model and solve the problem again 7.
