Conceptual Model

This project offers a design opportunity to develop an interactive Al system that solves the difficulties that people with disabilities encounter when utilizing public transit. The lack of proper accommodations for people with disabilities in many public transportation systems makes it challenging for them to navigate and use these systems independently. The software is a graphical user interface $($GUI$)$ for planning and navigating public transportation routes. The chatbot functionality is meant for instant help and queries regarding the routes and schedules of public transportation. Based on user input, the chatbot finds efficient routes within

the x mile radius. It helps find routes with the shortest delays for buses and trains, alike. Route navigation functionality will offer detailed instructions for using public transportation to a set destination.

The chatbot and the route planning functionality would be connected by an HTTP protocol. After the radius length is provided, the chatbot routes the user to a Google Maps$-$like interface to show the most efficient routes for buses and trains, where they choose the route and the proper instructions are given. There would be integration with public transit networks to deliver up$-$to$-$date route and schedule

information. The necessary data comprises the user's start and end locations, as well as his$/$her chosen route for customized recommendations and details about public transit routes and schedules.

Unlike Google Maps, this system allows users to readily share their locations with their close relatives. There is a $$share location$$ functionality that would allow users to send their locations to the provided phone number. Assuming that their relatives friends also have that app, they would be able to view their acquaintances in real$-$time. Based on each user's unique needs and preferences, the Al system will be in charge of giving recommendations and real$-$time support.

Ethical Issues

While this design is very user friendly and very effective for connecting users to buses and trains and allowing users to remain connected with their loved ones, this design has alarming repercussions.

This system$$s location sharing feature isn$$t very reliable when it comes to privacy,

because even after leaving$/$closing the app, it continues to track your location which can

be traced by other third party apps. Most users aren$$t aware that refreshing the cache and cookies can also help remove your current location. This AI system may also not be as useful for non$-$English speakers because communicating with the chatbot requires carefully thought out responses. If incomprehensible responses are provided, then the chatbot is programmed to reask the question in order to provide the most relevant services. If the AI system is not connected to a stable Internet then it won$$t be able to show routes between the user$$s start locations and their destinations. That would often require the user to restart the system or the computer or laptop on which this AI system runs on$.$
