THEORY QUESTION (5 marks) The following procedures have been noted at the local IGA store. There are 4 casual staff on working at any time and a supervisor. They share th following the following tasks Stocking shelves Processing sales Receiving deliveries The cash register does not require an ID or password so each staff can quickly and easily service customers. If too much money accumulates in the cash register it is taken by the supervisor and kept in an envelope in an unlocked office drawer. On Wednesday and Friday of each week the cash is banked by the supervisor. The supervisor prepares the bank reconciliation at the end of each week and sends to the external accountant for approval. Required: Identify two(2) weaknesses in the internal control procedures with respect to the cash procedures and the appropriate principle that has been violated and provide a recommendation to IGA.
