Please watch the movie "Monsters, Inc." You are the attorney for the Monsters, Inc. corporation. You are likely horrified by the legal issues that arise for the business as the movie goes on. Please make notes of the legal issues for the corporation as that evolve as the movie plays. Then, describe the issues that you see as they relate to the following areas of law. What are the elements of the tort that the plaintiff must prove by a preponderance of the evidence? What defenses are likely to be argued by the defendant and how do the facts support the plaintiff or defendant?

3. Property: Do you see any intellectual property displayed in the film as follows? Please provide examples:

b. Copyright

c. Patent/trade secret

4. Crimes: Do you see any crimes being engaged in? Can you identify the elements of the crime that the prosecutor would need to prove beyond a reasonable doubt for the jury to find the defendant guilty? What defenses might the defendant raise?

5. Employment Law: Do you see any violations of employment laws by Monsters, Inc.? Discuss the law that is violated and the elements that must be proven. What might Monsters, Inc. argue in their defense?

6. Contract Law: Do you see any contracts in this movie, verbal or written? Even if they are not discussed, where do you think contracts have been entered into? Can you identify where at least 3 contracts would/should be agreed upon? If there are no contracts and you are the attorney for Monster, Inc., advise your client on what business relationships should be expressed in a contract to clarify the terms and conditions?
