Question 4 [8 points) The following is information from the April 30, 2014 balance sheet of Courtland Corp.: Accounts Receivable 1,120,000 Less: Allowance for Doubtful Accounts 22,000 (a) During May, Courtland Corp. recorded total sales of $1,080,000, all on credit. Collections during May were $480,000 Total receivables identified as being uncollectible and written off during May were $6,000 Courtland Corp. estimated bad debts as 1,50% of net credit sales. (b) During June, total sales of $1,080,000 were recorded, all on credit. Collections during the month were $960,000. Total receivables identified as being uncollectible and written off during June were $8,000. Courtiand Corp. changed its method of estimating bad debts to the balance sheet approach because the new accountant said it more accurately reflected uncollectible accounts. The resulting aging analysis determined total estimated uncollectible accounts on June 30, 2014 to be $40,500. Record the end of month adjustments to record estimated bad debts.
