Pls help after you finish all the step plse put the findings in Google slide or create infographic.

Step One: Choose an area of further study to pursue.

You may want to consider:

  • An in depth study of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms; its significance to the Canadian legal system.
  • A focus upon one landmark case (eg. R v. Marshall, R. v. Drybones, R. v. Brown, R. v. Latimer)
  • A focus upon natural resource development and the impact upon human rights (eg. Pipeline or oil sands, natural gas, mining)
  • A focus upon the harmful effects upon people when rights and freedoms are not protected (domestic or international examples would work here as would a focus upon a particular group such as the right of the disabled or migrant workers)
  • A study of the rights and freedoms of youth in Canada and in Ontario
  • A study of different examples of violations of rights within the workplace
  • An in depth focus upon one of the influencing factors upon human rights (media, politics, business goals, globalization)

There is a great deal of choice for you to follow your own interests. Please discuss options with your teacher if there is a particular area you wish to pursue. Ask yourself:

  • Why am I choosing this focus?
  • What do I think right now?
  • What information do I need to gather?

Create several questions to guide your inquiry.

Step Two: Gather information about your area of study.

  • Aim to use 5-8 different sources of information. Read all of your information.
  • Record all of the details about your sources. (author, title, publication, year, date)
  • Take care to make your notes in your own words. It is very easy to inadvertently copy if your notes are incomplete. Ask yourself:
    • What have you discovered?
    • Can you trust your sources?
    • What conclusions can you draw about your area of study?
  • You may wish to discuss some of your findings with a peer or with your teacher at this point. It can become difficult to organize your thoughts.

Step Three - Synthesize your information. Use your research to answer your questions. For example, you may have asked:

  • What are the concerns regarding human rights with regard to this particular issue? How are the various rights interconnected?
  • Who are the various stakeholders in this issue? What are the differing perspectives?
  • Are there factors that are helping or hindering progress? Is any individual, group or government acting to address these factors?
  • What solutions have been proposed?

create an infographic or other form of visual presentation to present your findings.

Organize your findings.

Step Four -Decide upon a method of presentation. There are a number of different ways that you may choose to present your findings. The goal is to make a visual representation of your findings.

For example:

  • Piktochart.com is a free website that can help you make infographics
